Riding Career
Former professional.jump jockey,
Luke Dace, began riding under the guidance of Epsom stalwart, Ron
Smythe. He progressed to ride several winners before working through
the ranks to become a successful trainer with his own stables in
West Sussex.
Training Career
Luke began training back in 1999 and it wasn't long before Keltic
Heritage (one of his first horses) gave him a win at Cheltenham.
In 2003, Luke's success continued with
better horses from larger yards. He landed the £25,000 Tote
Sport Summer Hurdle with Italian Counsel (at 33-1) after buying
him back from a seller.
Other success stories around this time
were Captain Zinzan who completed a hat trick and was never out
of the first 4 placings and Wee Danny who made it 4 on the trot.

Despite being a small yard, Luke's career
has continued on an upward curve - producing winners under both
codes.

Philosophy
Building a bond with his horses is key to Luke's strategy. "A
horse needs to be fit and happy in order to try his hardest".
Luke knows all his horses and their individual characters better
than anyone and is very hands on -- you will usually see Luke riding
out the horses himself.
Louise
Dace
Luke's wife, Louise, was previously better known for running a successful
rehabilitation yard and brings much expertise in the physio and
veterinary field. Together they offer a very dedicated approach
to training.
